UN PERMANENT FORUM ON INDIGENOUS ISSUES: Twentieth Session

  • Theme: Peace, justice and strong institutions: the role of indigenous peoples in implementing Sustainable Development Goal 16
  • The Forum Session will take place in a hybrid format with mostly virtual meetings. In-person meetings at UN Headquarters in New York will only take place at the opening and closing meetings, with limited in-person participation of Forum members and Member States. All other attendees will participate via an online platform.

  • Now in its third year, London Climate Action Week (LCAW), is an annual event bringing together world-leading climate expertise to help solve the climate emergency. (Read more)

  • The ministerial sessions will include interactions with civil society. The High-Level Ministerial segments are tentatively foreseen to take place in-person but depending on the status of the pandemic those could be virtual as well. (Read more)

UNFCCC REGIONAL CLIMATE WEEKS 2021: Ministerial Sessions for Latin America and the Caribbean

  • The ministerial sessions will include interactions with civil society. The High-Level Ministerial segments are tentatively foreseen to take place in-person but depending on the status of the pandemic those could be virtual as well. (Read more)

COP26 YOUTH SUMMIT, Milan, Italy

  • The ‘Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition’ meeting in Milan is part of the process of involvement of young people, which started in 2019, also thanks to the support of Italy, with the United Nations Youth Climate Summit, held in New York on 21 September 2019.
  • The event will offer young people from all over the world the opportunity to develop concrete proposals for Pre-COP26 in Milan and COP26 in Glasgow. (Read more)

PRE-COP26 SUMMIT, Milan, Italy  

  • All4Climate-Italy2021 is an initiative launched by the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea, in collaboration with Connect4Climate, the World Bank’s communication program on climate change, with the participation of the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Milan, aimed at fostering proactive dialogue on the challenges of the climate crisis and delivering on the objectives of the Paris Agreement. COP26, Glasgow, UK

  • The COP26 summit will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
  • The UK is committed to working with all countries and joining forces with civil society, companies and people on the frontline of climate change to inspire climate action ahead of COP26. (Read more)
